Festive Fun Bringing People Together

Residents enjoy a month of holiday festivities in the company of good friends and family.

Avalon Retirement Lodge- Orangeville, Ontario

This holiday season sparked ….

Creativity. The residents took part in Holiday Wreath Making and Gingerbread Cookie Decorating. Whether these activities were old holiday traditions or new learning experiences, they were enjoyed by all in good company. These holiday wreaths were used as decorative pieces throughout the lodge for all to appreciate. The cookies on the other hand, didn’t last very long!

Joy. The carolers stopped here to spread holiday cheer to the residents and staff. From the concert bands, to the bell choir to the tap dancers and the Christmas story tellers, so much talent walked through the Lodge doors.

Adventure. The residents bundled up and ventured out for a walk to see Christmas in the Park at Kaycee Gardens, and the array of Christmas lights were a sight to be seen.

Laughter. An outing to a local thrift store provided opportunity to pick up holiday sweaters. Residents brought these sweaters back to the lodge and decorated them with any festive materials that they could get their hands on! They dressed up in their "Ugly" Christmas sweaters to show off their creations at the Specialty Hot Chocolate Party later that day.

Togetherness.  The residents, families and staff members enjoyed the annual Christmas Party all together. There was live music, dancing and prizes. The drinks were flowing and our Kitchen Staff served a variety of hors d’oeuvres and specialty treats. Santa even stopped by for a visit!
