Special Visitors

Residents had a visit from Japan this week

Leacock Retirement Lodge- Orillia, Ontario

On Monday March 12th, Leacock Retirement Lodge hosted 42 students from Nakamura Gakuen Junior High School in Japan. The students and two of their teachers came to Leacock to learn about what we do, have a tour of our space and share some of their traditional activities with our residents.

For just under two hours our residents had the opportunity to visit with the students. This allowed the residents to learn how to play Japanese card games, fold Origami, write their name in Japanese calligraphy and learn about anime characters.

We are so thankful to have the connection with Muskoka Language International and be able to facilitate cultural programs for our residents!
