Jarlette Long Term Care Homes Take Top Honours at the OLTCA Quality Improvement Recognition Awards 2013

The OLTCA Quality Improvement Recognition Program celebrates excellence in long term care homes. In 2013, four Jarlette homes were praised for their outstanding commitments and initiatives to promote quality in long-term care.

The Innovation of the Year Award is presented to homes that introduce a program that improves the delivery of quality care to long-term care residents. Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie won for their work in using INTERACT tools to reduce Emergency Department transfers. Meadow Park Chatham won honourable mention for their use of technology to enrich resident and family satisfaction and improve quality of work and life.

The Team of the Year Award is presented to the team affiliated with an OLTCA member home that achieves significant improvements in quality as measured by the Ontario Health Quality Council or other evidence-based, qualitative or quantitative indicators. Top honours go to Southampton Care Centre and their Red-Green Committee whose resident and staff surveys identified the need for fire safety training in the home. Honourable mention went to theTemiskaming Lodge Weight Variance Management Team.

We would like to congratulate all of the Jarlette homes for their amazing work and especially those who were featured as the industry leaders and quality innovators in long term care. You truly are making a difference in the lives of others!
