Jarlette Health Services is pleased that the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced 47 new long term care beds for Stayner Care Centre, as part of the province's commitment to build 5,000 new beds by 2022.
"We are thankful for the province’s commitment to expand capacity for long-term care and to the community of Stayner for their continued support," said David Jarlette, President, Jarlette Health Services.  "The infusion of an additional 47 beds to Stayner Care Centre, combined with the redevelopment of the existing 49 beds will make a monumental difference, supporting our ability to meet the challenge of an aging demographic, while meeting the needs of seniors waiting for long-term care, whether it be in their home, under the care of a loved one, or in hospital."
Upon redevelopment, Stayner Care Centre will offer care and services to 96 long term care residents in a state of the art, purpose built long term care home which will meet the needs of our seniors both today, and in the future.
On hand for the announcement, Ann Hogarth, MPP for Barrie stated "I am glad that our government has recongnized the needs for these beds in Barrie and our neighboring communities.  As our region has an aging population, they will be needed for many years to come."
