46 New Long Term Care Beds for Temiskaming Lodge
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced 46 new long term care beds for Temiskaming Lodge

"We are thankful for the province�s commitment to expand capacity for long-term care and to the community as a whole for their continued support," said David Jarlette, President, Jarlette Health Services. "The infusion of an additional 46 beds to Temiskaming Lodge,combined with the redevelopment of the existing beds will make a monumental difference, supporting our ability to meet the challenge of an aging demographic, while meeting the needs of seniors waiting for long-term care, whether it be in their home, under the care of a loved one, or in hospital."
Upon redevelopment, Temiskaming Lodge will offer care and services to 128 long term care residents in a state of the art, purpose built long term care home which will meet the needs of our seniors both today, and in the future.Temiskaming Lodge is one of 14 long term care homes and 6 retirement communities owned and operated by Jarlette Health Services.
A celebration was done in house on Tuesday, May 1st. The Administrator made the special announcement to residents, staff members and families in the dining room and then, a group picture was taken. Everyone here is bubbling with excitement and anxious to see the new building! Residents have commented on the positive aspects of a Long Term Care Home that meets the new standards including: designated activity and restorative care rooms and no more 4-bed suites.
