Farewell Dr. Dave

Staff, Residents & Family Gather to Say Thank-You

Meadow Park - Chatham, Long-Term Care

Residents gathered to say good-bye to their beloved physician fondly known as Dr. Dave.

On August 3rd residents, family members, and staff all came together to say farewell and thank-you to one of the

Chatham homes physicians. Fondly known as "Dr. Dave" the well loved physician (known for his beard and his

passion for long-term care residents) was honoured and celebrated with a farewell party.

For nearly three years Dr. Dave has been caring for the residents of Meadow Park Chatham.  He came to the home

fresh out of his internship at the local Family Health Team.  He was joining forces with the home's Medical Advisor Dr.

Dax Biondi and together they created an exceptional duo known for their proactive and supportive approach for the

100 residents who call Meadow Park Chatham home.

Dr. Dave is excited for the next steps in his journey.  He and his family will be heading back home to Nova Scotia to

be closer to extended famiy.  Dr. Dave has made trips to Africa in the past to help train Physicians and plans to

continue with his aspirations to make a difference abroad.  During Dr. Dave's time at Meadow Park he was

instrumental in the initiation of the goal to purchase an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for the home.  Director

of Care, Susan Vanek, presented Dr. Dave with a plaque that will be placed on the home's AED in recognition of his

vision and efforts.

We will miss you Dr. Dave.  You have made a difference to so many in your short time at Meadow Park Chatham.  We

will remember and learn from your passion for education and mentorship.  You have been a wonderful Physician and

we all wish you the very best with hopes that our paths will cross again someday.
