2014 Robbie Burns Dinner at Roberta Place

THE SELKIRK GRACE

Some hae meat and canna eat,

And some wad eat that want it;

But we hae meat, and we can eat,

And sae let the Lord be thankit.

Roberta Place Long Term Care celebrated Robbie Burns Day complete with a bag piper, entertainment and Haggis! January 25th marks the Scottish Poets birthday and 32 residents were on hand to partake in the festivities. Although it has never been reported before, of the 32 guests, most requested second servings of the Haggis!

Raise a toast to the lassies and laddies for good health laughter and days past! A chorus of Auld Lang Syne, written by Burns himself, could be heard ringing through the hall.

A little known fact is that Auld Lang Syne is recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records for being the 3rd most popular song in the English Language. It is preceeded by "Happy Birthday" and "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow".
