Ideal Traits, Qualifications and Duties

  • A current certificate of registration with the appropriate college of a regulated health profession. (Reg. 79/10, s. 61 (1)).
  • Successful completion of certificate diploma or degree from an approved program preferred in Physiotherapy Aide, Occupational Therapy Aide, Recreation, Kinesiology.
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
  • Minimum of two years experience in geriatric rehabilitation or Long Term Care
  • Computer skills an asset.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Formulates a complete assessment of residents restorative care needs upon admission, ensuring a seamless transition and re-evaluates quarterly and as required
  • Assists with activities of daily living, assisted feeding, range of motion and ambulation
  • Ongoing assessment and evaluation of residents interests and abilities
  • Provides support for residentsí self-determination, encouraging independence and assisting residents to overcome barriers, promoting the concept of wellness
