Under the direction of the Administrator, the Culinary Manager is responsible and accountable for managing all aspects of the food service within the Home and meeting the nutritional needs of the residents. Ensures and provides safe, efficient and effective preparation and delivery of food to residents and staff and for special events.


Ideal Candidate Traits, Qualifications and Job Duties

  • Successful completion of a recognized course in Food Service Management and/or Nutrition Management
  • Be a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a registered dietician
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
  • Must be computer literate
  • Minimum of 2 years Food Service management experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology)
  • Must be eligible to meet ONHA qualifications
  • Formulates a complete assessment of residentís nutritional needs upon admission, considering likes and dislikes, ensuring a seamless transition and re-evaluates quarterly and as indicated
  • Ongoing assessment, documentation and evaluation of residentís nutritional status and interventions.
  • Formulates, implements and evaluates nutritional plan of care for residents as being at nutritional risk congruent with residents rights
