Join our team as Culinary Manager - Full Time!
As a member of the management team the Culinary Manager is charged with the management of nutrition and hospitality services to ensure provision of high-quality food and nutritional services to the home with emphasis on the individual dietary needs and wants of the residents, including special ethno-cultural requirements.
The following traits and qualifications are required:
- Experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
- Proven supervisory experience in a retirement or long-term care setting
- Must be knowledgeable of nutritional needs of the residents in a retirement facility setting
- Must demonstrate a creative flair for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co-operation of departmental employees.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with residents of the facility
- Must be an effective team player who works well with others.
- Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating
- Minimum two years progressive related experience in an institutional setting such as Retirement facility
