Join our team as the Director of Accounting and Administration!

 

The Director of Accounting and Administration will be directly responsible for the overall planning, coordination and continuous development of Jarlette Health Services and its accounting, IT and business systems operations. They will provide financial leadership, manage budgets, oversee accounting functions, conduct forecast analysis, tax planning and monitor corporate credit. This individual will also be responsible for playing a key role in the long and short term strategic decision making and oversee the administration of subordinate managers, including the direction of the IT and business systems departments.

 

The following traits and qualifications are required:

  • 4 years Technical or Business Administration Degree, MBA or similar degree preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Extensive management experience in Senior Living or related industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Senior Living or related industry and high-level Administration experience required.
  • 10 years progressively responsible experience with at least 3 years in management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a large organization preferred.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and applications.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Management.
  • Must possess a current driver's license and willing to travel
  • Willingness to participate in relevant Committees and Boards, such as those led by the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) and or Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)
  • Willingness to participate in various networking and advocacy efforts with external policy and decision makers at all levels of Government.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
  • Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization.
