Under the direction of the Administrator, and as a member of the home’s leadership team, the Director of Care at Jarlette Health Services will be responsible for all aspects of the nursing care and service to our residents to ensure quality resident care and compliance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act.
The following traits and qualifications are required:

Must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51

Must possess a minimum of one year experience working as Registered Nurse in the long term care sector

Must possess 3 years experience working in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting

Demonstrate strong leadership skills and positive interaction with residents, families, staff and management

Coordinates CQI, risk management, occupational health and safety, infection control activities

Develops, evaluates and communicates goals and objectives, policies and procedures to the nursing staff through mechanisms such as staff meetings, in-services, manuals, memos, nursing orientation and committees

Computer literate and working knowledge of administrative software platforms

Diplomatic and able to work under pressure, while keeping a resident centered approach

Knowledge of applicable legislation, unionized settings and labour contract

Strong human relations skills, able to adapt to the changing environment in LTC
