Volunteers Recognized At Blenheim Seniors Fair

Dedicated Meadow Park Chatham Volunteers Recognized For The Outstanding Difference They Make In The Community!

Meadow Park Chatham Long Term Care Home - Chatham, ON.

Last week, four of our Volunteers were recognized at the Blenheim Seniors Fair during the 2019 Chatham-Kent Senior Achievement Awards. Each year during Seniors' Month, the municipality acknowledges the outstanding contributions made by Chatham-Kent Residents aged 55+. The event is held in tandem with a Senior Services Exhibition in order to provide information about local services for seniors.

Four very dedicated Volunteers received their awards from MPP, Rick Nichols, MP, Dave Van Kesteren and Chatham Mayor, Darren Canniff (among other city counselors).

Fr. Frank Leslie: Fr. Leslie has been coming to our Home for over 20 years to provide Catholic Mass two times each month. He is always very accommodating day or night to provide our Palliative Residents bedside comfort and Sacrament of the Sick. Fr. Leslie provides supportive care and compassion to our Residents and for that we wish to acknowledge his contribution to our Home and to the Chatham-Kent community.

Bill Maynard: Bill comes to Meadow Park on a monthly basis to perform for our Residents. He loves to share old favorite tunes and spend time visiting and interacting with our Residents. Bill is also an active member with the “Lois Sing-Along Singers”. His love of music and entertaining is greatly appreciated by our Home.

Elaine Wilcox: Elaine has been a dedicated and dependable Volunteer at Meadow Park Chatham for over 25 years. Elaine provides Anglican Communion and visits with our residents on a monthly basis. Always with a smile and a compassionate heart Elaine is a source of encouragement and reassurance for many of our Residents.

Priscilla Yellowage: Priscilla has been a Volunteer with our home for 12 years and is involved in many programs and services. We wish to acknowledge her commitment to the weekly Rosary that she facilitates at Meadow Park. She gathers the Residents together each Thursday to say the Rosary and this has become a very meaningful program to our Roman Catholic Residents. Priscilla is also very involved with Catholic Mass twice a month and acts as the President of the Meadow Park Auxiliary. Her drive to provide quality programs and special events for our residents is so very appreciated.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of the Volunteers who make an outstanding difference at Meadow Park Chatham each and every day.
