Vendor Fair Promotes Better Seniors' Care

Meadow Park Chatham Highlights Care & Services

Meadow Park - Chatham, Long Term Care

Guest Vendor, Nicole Elston (Attends representative), helps promote Better Seniors' Care by logging on to sign the petition.

Meadow Park Chatham was hopping this past March 15, 2017 as the Management Team and partnering service and product vendors gathered together to hold the homes first ever Better Seniors' Care Vendor Fair.  The goal for the event was to promote the exceptional care and services offered at the 100 bed long term care home.  However, the fair took on a unique theme, taking time to shine a light on the growing need to address priorites such as rebuilding aging homes and ensuring staff are equipped to handle the growing care requirements of the residents they serve each day.

Over 15 vendors were represented at the fair including on-site services such as hairdressing, footcare and representatives of the Meadow Park Auxiliary and Family Council.  It was an endeavour that called upon the entire multidisciplinary team in order to answer questions and allow visitors, residents and families to ask questions of individuals they may not have the opportunity to see each day.

Over the course of three months Meadow Park Chatham has made the Better Seniors' Care Campaign a visible priority in the home.  Staff have been earning "Care Bucks", residents have been baking "Cookies for Council" and visiting with the Chatham-Kent-Essex MPP, Rick Nicholls.  Most recently the home's dining room mural has been "blooming with care".  All of these events and themes have taken place with one goal in mind - Better Seniors' Care.

Finally, it is our hope to keep these priorites at the top of mind for those who can help us make a difference.  We'll continue to do sing-a-long's with our MPP, talk about the priorites for our home and other homes to all who will listen. We will hold events such as our annual Family Council barbecue (June 14, 2017) and continue to educate and promote long term care.  We pledge to do our best for the people who are at the core of all we do each day - our residents.  We thank-you for doing your part and we hope you will continue to make Better Seniors' Care a priority.
