Halloween Madness
Treats, Halloween Parties and Pumpkin Carving in Haileybury
With the Residents of Temiskaming Lodge, Long Term Care
The week of Halloween was busy at Temiskaming Lodge in Haileybury. Since many residents enjoy actively participating in festivities year round, especially if it includes interactions with children, there were several special activities! We had residents decorating pumpkins and colouring and filling treat bags for the Trick or Treaters from the community.
We also held a Halloween Party on October 29th with the Sunshine Boys entertaining the residents, while they enjoyed some nice Halloween treats. All the residents got dressed up and had a spooktacular time. Each resident was also given an individualized treat, according to their dietary needs and this, to take back to their rooms.
On October 30th, junior and senior kindergarten children came in from a local school, dressed in their Halloween costumes. They sang for the residents and gave them Halloween crafts that they had personally made for them. On October 31st, many residents got dressed up and waited by the front entrance door for the Trick or Treaters to come in. They enjoyed seeing the little ones in their costumes and handing them some goodie bags. What a wonderful way to end such an eventful week!
