2017 Ontario Volunteer Service Awards

Making a Difference & Celebrating Years of Service

Alexander Place - Waterdown Long-Term Care

This year, the Ontario Volunteer Service Award ceremony was held on April 4th at Michelangelo’s Banquet Center in Hamilton. The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards is a yearly ceremony to recognize the dedication and commitment of volunteers in with various organizations in the community. Awards are given out based on years of service; ranging anywhere from 5-65 years of service.

This year, Alexander Place had the honour of nominating six of their long-standing volunteers to receive this award. Corey Quibell (10 years of volunteering with Alexander Place) and Ann Moelker (15 years of volunteering with Alexander Place) were able to attend the ceremony to receive their awards from Monique Taylor, MPP of Hamilton Mountain. Other volunteers who received the award are Dianne Cornish (10 years of service), Kathleen Cornish (10 years of service), Shirley Kent (15 years of service), and Ron Fulkerson (5+ years of service). Shared between these six volunteers is a grand total of 65+ years!

Alexander Place is extremely proud to have the opportunity to be able to recognize our volunteers in this way, and we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to not only the volunteers listed above, but all of the individuals who volunteer their time with our residents.
