Memorial Tree Planting in Memory of Mr. Douglas Stuart (1915 - 2017)

Meadow Park - Chatham, Long-Term Care

A memorial plaque stands beside a beautiful flowering crab-apple tree at Meadow Park Chatham.  Family members of Mr. Doug Stuart donated the tree in honour of their Dad and Grandpa to say thank-you for the care he received at the Chatham home.

Many staff looked on as family members of Mr. Doug Stuart planted a beautiful tree in his memory. After living for almost 10 years at the Chatham long-term care home the family wanted to memorialize their Dad and Grandpa at the place he called home.

While at Meadow Park Doug celebrated his 100th and 101st Birthdays, he also received a beautiful quilt as an honour from "Quilts of Valour" in January of 2016 acknowledging his service in WWII.

The Staff and Residents of Meadow Park Chatham wish to say thank-you to the Stuart family for this beautiful gift that will remind us of them and their Dad. It has been an honour to provide care to Doug and to the many residents who call Meadow Park Chatham home.
