The Avalon Long Term Care

Welcome to Avalon Care Centre! "Helping Hands - Caring Hearts!" That is the Mission Statement of Avalon Care Centre - a 137 bed Long Term Care Facility, located in the rural community of Orangeville, providing 24 hour Nursing and Personal care services. With placement arranged through Community Care Access Centres, private, semi-private and ward accommodation is available.

What We Do



Striving to preserve the dignity and worth of each individual resident, and in recognition of their unique needs, Avalon provides flexible morning routines, sensory stimulation, qualified Life Enrichment staff 7 days a week, Volunteer, Pastoral and Restorative Care services. There is access to the Assistive Devices Program for purchase of mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers.

Employees are trained in dementia care, palliative care and gerontology and Nursing staff provide full assistance with activities of daily living and medication administration.

There is on site access to contracted Physicians, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, a Psychiatrist, a Dietician, and a Nurse Practitioner. On site clinics are also held for vision and hearing assessment and care.

Meals and snacks are planned in accordance with individual dietary needs.

For a reasonable additional cost, residents have access to a Hair Salon, Tuck Shoppe, Additional Foot Care, Special activities and trips, telephone and television hook up, transportation and escort to appointments when family is not available, and alternate therapies and drugs not covered under the Ontario Drug Benefit Plan.
