Marketing and Communication Manager

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Long Term Care Operations, the Marketing and Communications Manager assumes the responsibility and accountibility to provide vision for all marketing and communication strategies, and lead the homes to achieving quarterly/annual marketing and communication goals. The Marketing and Communications Manager will manage the performance of the long term care homes and provide mentoring and coaching as necessary.

Nature and Scope:

To develop and monitor marketing and communication strategies to assist homes to accomplish marketing, sales and communication goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business, or related field, or an appropriate combination of education and practical marketing and communication experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in marketing or communication and an additional 2 years experience managing sales force
  • Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies 
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices and techniques
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Must be well organized, capable of managing multiple priorities
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be in excellent physical and mental health
  • Possess a current drivers license and willing to travel
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing education
  • Demonstrates an interest in local and provincial politics
  • Computer literate

Hours of Work:

 Available 7 days per week
 Flexible hours

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the efforts and activities of Communication teams to ensure they are in alignment with revenue goals and objectives
  • Assist with recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and work allocation Resident and Family Service representatives
  • Analyze the effectiveness of marketing/communication programs, recommend and implement changes based on findings
  • Ability to examine and re-engineer Communication, form new policies, develop and implement new strategies
  • Create and edit marketing/Communication materials and presentations
  • Develop strategic marketing and communication strategy in conjunction with homes and monitor its effectiveness
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • Participate in a process to obtain regular feedback from our referral sources
  • Monitor records and reports including; marketing reports, Communication target reports, marketing statistics, secret shopping results
  • Provide input from Communication including growth, competitive analysis, market trends and business environment to develop strategic plans for Communication
  • Assist in annual budget preparation related to Communication targets
  • Create training and development plans for long term care representatives
  • Conduct regular analysis on pricing effectiveness of unfunded home services
  • Must actively participate in ongoing education opportunities
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of current trends related to the Health System and Communication that may impact Long Term Care health care services
  • Develop and review opportunities for future growth and development
  • Conduct on site evaluations of representatives effectiveness and success of strategy implementation related to marketing, sales and communication
  • Conduct regular conference calls related to marketing and communication strategies
  • Coordinate secret shopping dates with 3rd part contractor
  • Co-coordinate Making a Difference Awards
  • Co-coordinate Corporate Newsletter/Communique'
  • Co-chair Corporate Marketing Committee
  • Co-coordinate Yellow Pages advertising
  • Liaison with Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN)
  • Co-chair the Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN) Liaison Committee
  • Administer Website marketing content for division
  • Administer Digital Signage content for division
  • Coordinate Open Houses, ie New Builds, Long Term Care Home Anniversaries.
  • Develop skills and expertise in Communication in the Long Term Care Industry
  • Work on a variety of projects within a short period of time
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Using both informal and formal processes, the Marketing and Communications Manager will communicate any issues/concerns to the Director of Long Term Care Operations.
  • Uses the CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate and ensure follow-up
  • Must participate in local and provincial committees
